Well love is in the air over at JUST ADD INK and Pals Paper Arts this week and there challenge are Quite Similar. Who could not go with a love theme with so much Red

I Really wanted to try to do something different and come up with a fantastic card . But the more that i added to this card the more busy it looked and i felt it look great being basic.
its very hard to see in the pictures but i have tried to make a frame card.

I went over to Kathy's blog to have a bit of a look and found a combination of two cards for my card. i really loved the Tulip embossing folder from one card and the Embossing resit from another

so i have a little spare time as i went home from work today with a tooth ache and thought while i fill in the time before my dentist appointment i may as well have lunch (which was mash potato) and make a card. i have used this weeks JAI challenge for my card that i need to make for my little Niece 3rd Birthday . I could not miss the chance the participate in the first JAI for 2012. I will admit i am more of a card maker than a Scrapbook but love to give anything a go.

Merry Christmas 2011

Hi,
So 2011 is almost at a close with 10 days till Christmas and 15 days till the end of the year. OMG.
i would love to share with you my Xmas cards for this year. there never fancy cause you have to make so many but love the Result. i have used some old DSP from a few Christmas ago so i can make room for some new paper and still haven't decided on the new stamps i want to get from the new catalouge (shame on me)

The best word i Can use to Sum up 2011 is Hectic. The Year started off in Feb with another Operation to my Knee. (an my last thank goodness). A trip the the Statesin April for 4 weeks to Celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary, ( we were meant to go for our First but i had my Knee Reconstruction so we had to re scheduled). then We had Our 30th B'days in July and September and Got stuck into Finishing renovations in our yard in Oct ( still ongoing).
Lots of our Friends become parents for the first time this year and a few had baby #2. and lots of reasons to celebrate Between Birthdays and baby's and Weddings and Engagements.

To all who have had the time to check out my Blog i wish you and your family's a Very merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2012.

So This was also the first time that i have inked up my create a cupcake set .I have also substituted Old Olive for Wild Wasabi as i had a piece lying around and wanted a brighter green for my card

Case Study Challenge # 55

Wow it has been a busy Week for me, With Fathers Day yesterday and My Hubby's 30th birthday Today (happy Birthday Babe) we have just been flat out. We knew we would be running around all weekend so we took a few days off work to relax and spend some time together. So while my hubby plays his Xbox to relax i get to do some card making.....

This weeks Just add Ink Challenge is a Colour Challenge . I'm no really a fan of the pallet myself but wanted to give it a go to step outside of the comfort zone .I'm pretty happy with what i came up with .

I'm going to give this card to one of my Girl friends who is Due with there second in November. Shes having a boy so the bashful Blue was the perfect colour to get some inspiration.

again another card for another friend with a baby due in September for her baby shower next month. She is going to leave the sex for a surprise so it makes it hard to make things when you dont know if its a girl or boy. her invite for her shower came with a little picture of a giraffe so i have used brown and yellow as my colour inspiration

Well Winter is really here and it seems to be a soggy start to the long weekend. Which is also a great time to stay indoors and do some card making. I managed to get all the cleaning and laundry done yesterday ( i don't think it will dry but its on the line) and still spare a little time to visit my best friend and home and see how shes doing with the new bub and have a cosy dinner with some friends in the evening. that now gives me two days to relax and enjoy a long weekend. So there is my card that i whipped up for this challenge. Its nothing spectacular but I'm happy with the end result. So i wanted to step outside the square for this challenge and do something that i have never done before. A scrapbook page. My Friend Katie had a little crafty get together on Sunday and i had a project in mind to do a page as a keepsake for my Bestie who had a little girl last Monday and it just so happens that it would fit with this weeks Just add ink challenge to Just add Fussy cutting
My photos havent turned out very this week so the colour turned out really crappy.
I also used for the first time rub ons, i was afraid that they would not rub on to the page so i rubbed them on card stock first and them cut them out. I then poped the page into a frame for them to hang up in there nursery

i'm back

Hi guys,

this is just a quick post just to let you all know that i am well (and still alive)

My husband and i had a fantastic time in the states for most of April but unfortunately its been really hard for me to have to come back to the normal every day life. I had little trouble with the jet lag on the way back from the US and then i went back to work to find everyone sick with coughs and colds and as you do in an office is share everything including your germs and i have been struggling with a virus for the last two weeks .

i am hoping to be back blogging and entering challenges in the next few weeks but at the moment i am probably going to take a few more weeks away from the card making part of my life while i get better

Well I've been a bit quite on the blog front. I been busy getting ready for our holiday, This time Next week I'll be on a plane to the States for a few weeks. My Hubby and i are really excited.After the year i have had its been a long time coming.....
So that will mean that i wont be blogging for a few weeks so this will be my last post probably till late next month

BACK TO BASICS

baby shower gift

I have been meaning to post this as this is the other half of the baby shower gift i had made for a girlfriend who's shower was meant to be right now but she went into labor last night 7 weeks early. so this is a cushion that is meant to go with the tummy time blanket i made two weeks ago. I thinking you can use it for a nursing chair or just to decorate the babys rooms. i was trying to make the cushion in a heart shape but it just did not work so i had to go back to what i know... square. Spotlight at the moment have a great range of this material and its great for babys gifts so i have stocked up to make lots of special gifts for lots of special friends

Sorry i have been quite on the Blog front but last week end i went to Melbourne for the week end to vist a friend and her new baby and i had a busy week at work so I've had the wait till the weekend. I have use card making to help me get through the tough times when i have been recovering and a lot of that comes from finding Rachel and getting back into Stampin up

Baby Blanket #2

So Ive been a busy little bee today and finished another baby blanket, This one is for my Best friend Kaz who is Due in May , she is going to leave the sex of the baby as a surprise so this tummy time blanket is meant to be neutral being more Lemon, but i think its more girl than boy. I ended up making another Trip to spotlight in the afternoon and bought another cot panel that is more boy looking and i think that i might wait till the baby is born to give this one out. I also picked up some matirial for $3.50 a metre and am going to make Cotton Wraps that i will give kaz for her baby shower. all i have to do is overlock the sides.

Again I have used the just add ink challenge #56 to make the matching card for this blanket taking some of the colours and matching them with Stampin up colours and my owl punch

baby blanket

So If you read my blog you know that i have a million girlfriends who a pregnant right now and i have 3 baby showers coming up in the next few weeks. So i like to make something special for gifts that are unique and one of a kind and Im pretty good and sewing as long as its square (cushions, blankets, pillow cases table clothes) you get my drift....

So for my very close friends i like to make a tummy time blanket for there new addition. I went to spotlight this week and found these great fabrics for cot panels with matching material and found it really easy to whip up this tummy time blanket for my friend who is having a girl in April. So I also need a card i used the colors of the blanket and took some stampin up colours and my owl punch and whipped up a matching card which i have also used for an Inskpiration Challenge . hi,
as i mentioned at the moment Im stuck at home for two weeks while i recovery from an Arthroscope i had on Wednesday, so this means Im going to have time to make some projects that Ive been meaning to try but have not had the time. Last night i whipped an an easel card which i have wanted to try for ages. Credit goes to the lovely and Creative Bronwyn Eastley who has just been announced as one of the caretakers of the Just and Ink Challenge blog as the lovely Amanda and Danielle step down. Congratulation Bron.
i pretty much just made the same card but was beside myself as to how easy it was to put it together. I'm going to send this to my mum who has been a great help looking after me for the last couple of days till i get a bit more mobile and my husband takes over the duties on the week end.

This weeks just add ink challenge is a colour combination challenge.

When i looked at theses colours together i instantly thought of girly love.I was trying to pull off a valentines day card for my hubby but it just turned out too girly, think i might have to settle for dinner and a movie.
Here is the final result.

I've been dying to use my heart shaped treat cups. I was really trying to make a snow globe kind of card but the water leaked out of it so i decided to add a butterfly into the cup.

Add Monochrome...............
Wow i had so many ides in my head but i had to make two cards cause i just could not decide. when i think monochrome i think wedding so my cards are wedding themed.
My first card Features an Photo which i wanted to incorporate in a card as I'm not really a scrapbooker. This image is special to me as its an image of my own wedding bands. My second card is a card i made last week for a friends wedding and i had to make another version of it for this challenge. The cake is easy to make just measure the tiers and round them off with a corner punch and run through the big shot. easy. the card i made last week the little hearts are red so i used black ones to stick with the theme and the heart is from the owl punch . to join the fun please visit Just add Ink

First Just add ink Challenge for 2011, Yeah
i have gone for a baby card which sure will come in handy as about a million of my friends are pregnant at the moment,(OK slight exaggeration its about 4) actually make that three i just checked face book and one of my friends gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. I was at a friends wedding and didn't hear the news till this morning so I'm sure i will have a few baby showers in the next few months. i had started making one card and then the challenge was posted so i made another in the colors for this challenge. i have add to substitute elegant eggplant for concord crush as for some reason i have elegant eggplant in ink but no card stock.

Today i thought i would share this card with you. i got my inspiration from a card i saw as part of a case study blog and Loved the way the Amy Wanford had Created a cake with such a simple idea of using an embossing folder and thought i would create my own version for one of my close friends that is getting married on Saturday, I thought she will be to busy tomorrow to be surfing the net so it should be a nice surprise for her.
I have chosen to dabble with some of the other products that are around and found most of the items at my local scrapbook store. i just love an elegant wedding card,

Well I've just found the time to complete my card for this challenge. The team at just add ink have done a sketch challenge to run for two weeks as most of us will be busy with preparations for Christmas

I have been in lock down today getting my xmas cards for this year all finished
as much as i wanted to stay away from traditional, i just cont not help but fall in love with the jolly holiday DSP and could not resist using it for my cards this Year.

Hi,
Well i didn't have to try to hard to make a card for this weeks JUST ADD INK challenge.
I have one of my very very oldest friends little boy turning 1 next week and yesterday one of my most cherish girlfriends invited me around to help make her X mas cards all day long.
So while i was in 100% card making mode i made this card.
I had such a great time and the chance to Raid my friends stash and use stamps that i don't have.
Im not going to pop a card recipe on this one cause its a mix of Su and non SU but i was so excited to use "All in the family " to make the little birthday boy on my card(and i didn't use a stamp-a-ma-jig either)

I've been a little bit absent from the stamping world, we had to focus on starting the renovations for the outside of the house but lucky for me its been a rubbish weekend for it cause it was raining off and on so i had a little time to make this card but Ive only been able to post today,
here's my take on the challenge, i wanted to start experimenting with Xmas cause i still don't have any idea for my Chrissie cards this year. I've been dying to try to make this rosette thing that ive seen in the catalouge and a scowerd u-tube to find a demonstration

Had an great time at Rachel Jacksons Christmas Stamp-a- Stack on friday Night
We made eight cards with two different Designs and these cards look great.
I think i got a few of my friends into the stampin world from my workshop last week as they were all very exited when i delivered there order this week
Rachel got us to use some shimmer paint which i have never used before. Its a bit hard to see but we have used on the snowflake missed with some nigh of navy ink and on the bauble mixed with some Concord Crush ink

Whooo,
I finally had my very first stampin up workshop.
Firstly a very humongous Thank you to the lovely Rachel Jackson for running my party and just being awesome . My friends and family had a great afternoon of girly chat and card making, the conversation seemed to focus on babies as so many of my girlfriends and family are pregnant or have a baby. Not this little black duck(not yet anyway)
i got so caught up in the day i didn't take photos of everyone having fun
but i took some photos of the cards we made and i also made some gifts to thank everyone for coming
Rach made some great cards for us an i think we inspired everyone for Christmas. we also showed that there are some fantastic colors that you can use for xmas not just red and green

I have bought some candles from the $2 store and use cherry cobbler and Old Olive card stock and cut out strips of Jolly Holiday DSP , stamped a ornament from delightful decorations and poped a jewel in the middle , wrapped up in some cellophane an there you have it

Hi guys
This weeks challenge from the Just add ink team is Incorporated with such a thoughtful cause. They would like to raise awareness of what i would describe a silent disorder of depression and anxiety. I personally have experienced the effect of depression and anxiety on family and friends and it can be just a debilitating as cancer. Its so sad to know that someone close to you can never have the strength to ask for help or they feel so alone that they cannot confide in anyone and find that the easiest way out is to shut everyone out or to end there life. Being blue is not fun and this is a great cause to support.

When i made this card i wanted to think that if i had to give a card to someone who may not be feeling the best today and needed a pick me up to get through the day and this is what i can up with

this weeks Just add ink #36 is all ready to go with a sketch challenge. i wanted to go bright an funky this week as it was such a beautiful sunny Sydney day , looks like winter is long gone. whats even better about this card is that i did not cut into a new piece of card stock, i used all the left overs from previous challenge cards i have done. I think this card looks yummy . I've topped the ice-cremes with some kindy glitz to make them shinny but the photo just doesn't do it justice

Well On Friday Night i went to the New 2010-2011 Calalogue launch at Rachel Jacksons house and had an absolute blast. First of all i would like to mention that it is only Two more weeks till the new SU catalouge hits Australia and I am soooo excited.
i havent got much of a chance to stamp this weekend so i an combining a few goals in one with this card. Well we've been busy visiting our new Nephew who arrived on Wednesday.His name is Zain Nicholas Moore and he is sooo cute, and my husband is soooo clucky. He was a whooper at 3.93 kgs. (must be the Moore Genes)
So this card is going to one on my Good friends Who is 30 today. We went out to dinner at the Meat and Wine Co in Parramatta last night and i dont think i will eat for a week.
So i have used to challenges for my inspiration. the Inkpirations sketch Challenge #34 , but more special is the Just add in #30 Challenge. Add wheels......in Honor of a very special little boy name Hudson who needs some help to raise money for a walker. The stamping community is amazing to come together to help a family in need. So this turned out to be a great masculine card. here's a tip, if you don't have nestabilities or dies to cut out scallop ovals or circles, I have used my oval cutter first and then carefully punched the edge with a scallop punch to achieve a similar look hope this helps

This weeks challenge from the just add ink girls is a colour Challenge. I was glad that i could get back to my roots and be as girly and blingy as i wanted to be. I don't have always artichoke , so i have substituted with Mellow Moss which is sadly going to Stampin up colour heaven.
I started off making one card and then made another with the left overs . I was happy with both cards so i'm going to show off both.

What a fantastic challenge from the JAI team this week. Its a combo challenge...... A Man Card with some Man colours

What a great Challenge with Fathers Day around the corner as well as my Man's Bithrday next month, The hardest thing with making a man card is not to make it look girly, so no bling, no butterflies and no glitter . This challenge also goes well with our current Renovation at our house .....the Man Shed.

Wow can you beleive that it is half way through the year already.I'm sick of cold winter, bring on the summer sun.
Well i thought that i might use this weeks challenge to warm up a bit with some colour. I wanted to step outside the square a bit so this week i made a promise not to use any butterflies.

Cindy is hosting this challenge while Makeesha is on holidays with her family in Canada(there are some awesome picks that she has shared ). So the items that i have used that i was saving for a special card are my Sweet treat cups and some hodgepodge hardware. I find it hard to part with them just in case you can never order them ever again

Hi,
What a beautiful Winter Sydney day its going to be .Looks like the sun is out to take the chill off the air. But i'm not quite ready to go outside just yet and woke up early to finish my card for this challenge.
I'm not really good with DSP and tend to use it like a background stamp and i really didn't want to do the old patchwork top note for this challenge either. If you want to have a go please visit Just add ink

I have stamped image onto the DSP and painfully cut out her dress rather than just colour her dress in for added effect. I think it worked well

This week challenge from the girls is add stitching. I never thought of using stitches on a card but seen it done many times. I didn't want to add the old top note die patchwork that i have seen heaps so i gave it a shot and here's what i came up with (notice that there is no bling but i had to add a butterfly)

Loving Melon Mambo

Hi Bloggers,
Just wanted to share some cards that i have made recently In my favorite in Color Melon Mambo.I'm so glad that this color is here to stay. I have time on my hands while i'm recovering from a Knee Reconstruction (Ouch i know). One thing i have done was create my Blog (yeah)
Both Cards i had the idea to use my sweet treat cups but i only have a limited supply so i tried the same technique one with a cup an one without.
One thing about me is i love butterflies and i love bling (glitter,rhinestones,brads you name it)

This first card was a thank you card i made especially for Rachel Jackson who is my SU demonstrator . She was kind enough to send me a get well card so what better way to thank her but with a card
