Freshly made sketches # 93

just a quick post to show two cards that i whipped up last night for two events that i have this weekend, i have used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge as my template for my cards.
So the baby card is for a baby shower that i have today .
 And tomorrow we have a naming day for baby henry born in april.

Mother's Day card

Hi
Well tomorrow is going to be my first Mother's Day so it will be interesting to see how much I will be pampered or will it just be another day on the calendar . Anyway still have to make cards for our mothers so this is what I came up with while the little man had his morning sleep

Another Nappy Cake

Hi,
Just to show you guys another nappy cake that I put together for a baby shower that I have next month. My friend is having a boy so I was able to use a few things that I got eg blankets and stuffed toys. So these are a really great present as I get the chance to get creative between feeds and nappy changing. This cake I have about 30 infant nappies in the base. I use infant size cause newborn is only up to 5 kg and most people's kids seem to be born at 3-4kg so there in the next size nappy before you know it. They also make the base bigger. The 2nd tier I have used some pumpkin patch onsies . You can make it a bit cheaper by using clothes from Kmart or big w. then I have made lollipops out of two face washers rolled together. All I have to do I cellophane it together and all done

Baby card

Just a quick post with a baby card that I whipped up. I used last weeks freshly made sketches for inspiration but the week had already closed when I made this and the it took me another 5 days to post. Guess that's what happens when your a busy mum . Really love this sketch so might use it to make my Mother's Day cards

owl birthday card

just a quick post as i was really pleased with the way theses cards turned out. I had to make two cards for Two Olivia's who are both turning 2. as you know i have a little bubba so i dont really have the time to make cards theses days so i have to say that i did case this card . this is the blog where i cased this idea but  i have used what i have  in my stash. i was so happy with the way that they turned out that i had to post on my blog . Freshly Made Sketches #72

Today i have a very cute little card i have made for a Baby shower that i have on the weekend which has a robot theme for a little boy due in april.my friends having here baby shower very early this time as last time she went into labor a day before her shower and she did not want to miss her shower this time.
I dont have any robot stamps so i cut out robot out of shapes and punches, and this is what i came up with.
I have also used this weeks Freshly made Sketches Challenge as the template for my card .Hope you like

Rainbow booties

Just wanted to quickly post these booties that I made in Friday . I just love how they came out. I have used the same pattern as my previous post of booties I just used a 5mm crochet hook to make them a little bigger.

Freshly Made Sketches # 68

Hi,
I think i have snuck in just in the nick of time with my entry. I needed a design for a card that i need to make for my nephews birthday next month and have used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge as my inspiration

toffee apple crochet booties

Hi,
Well im very proud of this post. I have finally started to learn how to crochet now that i have the time to learn. I have watch my mum make grany square blankets for years and have always wanted to learn the skill of crochet. So I invested some time between feeding bub to find some videos on line that i could understand and create a project. I found this video on You Tube and the link to this blog called Crochethooksyou and with a little practice I made my first set of booties.

As you can see i really had to stretch them to fit my 10 week old bubba foot so the pattern is really suited to a new newborn. I ended up doing these with a 4mm crochet hook cause i need it to learn the stiches. the wool i used was Panda cotton blend 8 ply as i could not find the lincraft bamboozl like the pattern says to use. Sometimes  i get so frustrated with lincraft as they never have the stuff that you want. i do find spotlight sightly better. Anyway i was able to work with the wool that i picked.
Then i thought i was an expert and i make another pair and picked the colours myself
and this is how they turned out,as you can see the 2nd pair i did turned out a lot neater.

 

So i made my second pair for a little boy that my friend is having in a few months and i have used  two shaded  of blue and used the second shade where it is white on the pattern and on the front band.
